Both. Quite often I will have the horn in my lap, I will be sitting at the piano, and I might be playing the piano and then I'll play the horn. Quite often. Sometimes I'm maybe just with the horn and not the piano, or vice versa, I've written tunes like that. Quite often for me the most natural flowing ideas happen when I'm not with the horn or the piano, when I'm walking down the street, or if I'm cutting the grass. I will get the best ideas and then, when this happens you have to remember it, or you have to run in the house...
