I know my options as soon as I see whatever the chord symbol is and I try to have ... whatever the music context is I try to fit it into that. And as I say I've got all these screwdrivers, okay, well this will work nice, or well maybe that one. The hardest thing about any art is you know you can go this way or that way. It's making that choice.  What's the best choice. Sometimes you're right, sometimes you're wrong, but having a lot of choices is a good thing. But it can also drive you crazy.
