Well of course I guess one of my first inspirations was -- there were so many guys -- but Billy Strayhorn was one of my first inspirations. And a lot of people when they listen to Duke they don't know how much of that work was done by Billy as far as the orchestrations are concerned. Duke was the inspiration but Billy was the guy that really was the orchestrator. And I really like Billy, I love Billy. And I love a lot of the guys that wrote for Dizzy. I love Gil Evans. I think that Gil was one of the most complete of all of the guys. Because I was listening recently to some of his older arrangements. I was in Holland and they played the older things. "Robbin's Nest," "Anthropology" and all that. And you could get an idea of where he was going. But when he finally got together with Miles it was all there. And those things that they did are just really -- that's some of the greatest arranging that I've ever heard. There are other great arrangers, good arrangers, but that was complete. That was not just an arrangement, that was orchestration, composition, arrangement, everything together.
