Well I'll tell you, it speaks of the diffuseness of my life, my musical life. I'm able to compose and arrange serious music, but it doesn't interest me anymore because it stays, you know, once having written it, it stays. You don't have the opportunity to jab at classical music. I'm constitutionally unable to play anything the same way. I cannot remember after I've done it, what I've done. The only way I've ever been able to jot down what I play is, you know, when it's been recorded.
