It was a quartet. You can always tell, when you're mixing it up with the other musicians. When they give you a big smile, that means you're home free. Jimmie Rowles turned around and gave me a big smile, and Dave Barbour did a Freddie Green on me, so I knew I was doing right. I played brushes, no sticks, on that number, but it was enough to let Benny Goodman know that he liked my time, and he liked my little solo. He dug me.
