I want to ask you a question and come in on that from another little angle here. And that is this. You know I believe that jazz is a manifestation of oral culture. And can you give us your concept of what you feel music is when it emanates from oral culture or draw us any dichotomies or parallels or differences between oral culture and literate culture.  Because I feel like in much of today's jazz education it's too dominated by literate culture. By textbooks.
