Sam Pinn: I do. Initially Torrie [McCartney] was doing it, but then I took over since 1997-98. Our audience has changed somewhat; we domore than just jazz, we do everything now: we do jazz, R&B, some gospel… we do some straight ahead jazz, but what we tend to emphasize based on the audience we have – and we have a different audience from the straight jazz audience; 75% of the people who come are between 55-85 and they’re basically into swing, they want to dance, they hear the music through their feet. Most of the music is predicated on the swing portion, the music moves the people to dance. Its not like many of the places where you go and people are sitting down listening, where it’s a concert almost, or where people are eating and the main focus is the music as background. But here people are waiting to hear what you got to get them out of their seats and up on the floor dancing.
