Sam Pinn: Truthfully, we’ve [ Jazz 966] been blessed; the board of this agency has been very supportive, and some of the expenses have been borne by the board so we have not had to shut the doors. If we hadn’t had the support of the board we would have closed down. We do get donations and we have had grants; we’ve gotten support from many of the local politicians. Before 1999, up until that point we were relying on our own pocket. We had support from the Brooklyn Arts Council.
