Reggie Workman: The students were froin 7-70 so there was no bar line; we had some folks with canes struggling up there to take their [music] theory lessons, piano lessons or whatever the case may be, and they were really serious. We had 7 year olds who were dropped off by their parents and their parents knew it wasn't just a baby-sitting situation. It was real learning. We started at 3:30 after school and we went until around 9:30pm. I left The New Muse around 1984.
