That's what I think the appeal is that it has a quality that just draws you in and it energizes you. I think that's the thing that I really love about traditional jazz and early music. And when I would go down to New Orleans and be at Preservation Hall for instance, we would stay up all night of course at jam sessions. But the music was so energizing that you didn't get tired. You'd go all night and then the next night go all night. But the music just had such vitality. And that, I can remember first hearing it when I was a little kid and it had that quality for me as a six and seven year old child. I distinctly remember hearing certain tunes by Kid Ory and certain tunes by Duke Ellington, and dancing. And that was my response.
