Joshua Redman is a good player, but I always felt that it was a little safe for me, at that point. Me playing more inside - I think my style I would consider more of what Id say a conservative style, and I look for the tenor saxophonist to really be aggressive and to take it out. Thats what my preference is. At that time I needed somebody that - he sounded good. Its not that he didnt sound good, but it was a little safe for my liking, for what I needed, and it worked out in his favor, for sure.
