Well you know actually I mean okay when I first heard about Joe Williams, everybody was talking about his singing you know, with Count Basie's band. You know I mean at like Birdland you know? And at that time, I still am you know, I was a big fan of like Basie's band you understand what I'm saying? And so and I mean I find myself okay now I went to Birdland, I found myself just being oogle-eyed at Joe Williams. I didn't see the trombone player, I didn't even see Sonny Payne or nobody. The man was fantastic. And as like he said, he's a smart man, I mean because he didn't have, or ask for, to my knowledge, he had never had a hit record on his own. So and like "Every Day" you know he give up to somebody else, and he's still stepping. You understand what I'm saying? So he must be doing something right.
